As quoted by The Evening Standard, Mesut Ozil has delivered an honest admission on the state of his Arsenal future at the moment.
What did he say?
The former Germany international has endured a difficult campaign for the north London side so far, failing to find the back of the net at all, and providing just two assists across all competitions.
And with his contract expiring in the summer of 2021, Ozil has admitted that as of yet, it remains unclear whether he will be still be an Arsenal player in the long-term.

He said: “After this season I have one more year (on my contract). So after that I don’t know what will happen because I can’t see the future. The thing what I can do is give everything for the team, for myself, to be successful and let’s see what happens in the future.
“As I said before, what will happen in the future I don’t know yet. What I know is I will give everything for this club, for my team-mates. You know we have had a difficult season, we know it was a hard season for us but we want to win games again, to take the points. This year we have had difficult times but I think we are in a good way.”
Time to cash in
For all the turbulence that Arsenal have faced as a team with the sacking of Unai Emery, and then the appointment of Mikel Arteta, Ozil’s quite woeful output in terms of goal contributions is an indication of the ruthlessness they must show in the summer.
The Gunners simply cannot allow the £19.8m-rated star to walk away on a free transfer like Aaron Ramsey, and would be wise to at least recoup something financially by selling him in the summer window.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta has helped to fix Unai Emery’s main problem as Arsenal manager.
