Amorim arrived at the club's training centre on Monday ready to begin work as head coach following the announcement of his appointment as Erik ten Hag's replacement earlier this month.

Just hours after spearheading Sporting CP's 4-2 comeback win against Braga on Sunday in his last match in charge of the Portuguese club, Amorim hopped on to a flight for Manchester and immediately travelled to Carrington, where he was greeted by Berrada, Ashworth and technical director Jason Wilcox. The trio introduced the 39-year-old to the key staff members at United and gave him a tour of the training centre as he prepares to take charge of the club.

United have already announced that interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy has departed the club following Amorim's arrival. Fellow Ten Hag hires Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel were also let go.

Starting from Tuesday, Amorim will have 12 days to get settled in at the club before undertaking his first official match as United head coach when they take on Ipswich Town at Portman Road on November 24.
