Tata Martino named his starting XI for the Herons Wednesday evening, and the Argentine was not included as the club continued its chase for silverware this season. While the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner was not named to the squad, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez were all penciled in to the Starting XI for the Herons.

Messi's last match for Miami was on March 13 in the CONCACAF Champions Cup against Nashville SC, where he was subbed off at halftime with a hamstring injury. He then went on to miss the FIFA international break with Argentina and three matches with the Herons during March, as well.
