The Old Lady completed a Serie A double over their Derby d'Italia foes, and come into this tie on the back of a 1-0 league win against Verona.
Although both of Tuesday's Coppa Italia contestants have made progress in their respective European engagements, Inter are on a four-game unbeaten run in all competitions including three consecutive league defeats – the last a 1-0 result against Fiorentina.
