Kane limped off during Bayern's 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund last weekend, with it later emerging he had torn a muscle fibre in his thigh. Amid concerns the England international may not feature again in 2024, Bayern manager Kompany is hopeful he could play at least one more game this year.

He said at a press conference: "I don't want to put the medical department under pressure. But the way things are going now, it's possible that he will play one or two more games this year. But everything has to be right."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Kane has been a goalscoring machine for the German giants since joining from Tottenham in the summer of 2023 and his absence was felt in their 1-0 DFB-Pokal loss to Bayer Leverkusen in midweek. It may be important not to rush the 31-year-old back too quickly, especially as the winter break is just a couple of weeks away.
AFPWHAT NEXT?
Before the winter break begins, Bayern face Heidenheim, Shakhtar Donetsk, Mainz and RB Leipzig. If Kompany's prediction is correct, Kane could return for the Leipzig game on December 20 and possibly the Mainz one on December 14, too.
