Giant 6 foot 5 inch Polish goalkeeper Grzegorz Sandomierski is attracting interest from Premier League big boys Chelsea and a host of other top European sides, according to reports in The Daily Mail.
The 21 year old is currently playing in his native Poland with his hometown club Jagiellonia Bialystok. He was recently watched by Chelsea scouts in what was only the third International cap of his fledgling career. The game with Greece finished in a 0-0 draw thanks to a string of fine saves from Sandomierski which further enhanced his growing reputation.
Chelsea are looking for an able deputy to Petr Cech and see the up and coming Pole as the ideal choice. The potential signing of Sandomierski is likely to mean the end of the road for current back up keepers Ross Turnbull and Hilario.
Chelsea won’t have it all their own way in their trail for the young goalkeeper, as Juventus, Inter Milan and Manchester United have all been linked to a summer move for the big shot stopper.
La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported Juventus’ interest in the goalkeeper as recently as last Thursday, which places question marks over the future of their current number one Gigi Buffon.
