Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto’o could move to the Premier League this summer, claims The Sun.
Eto’o moved to Inter two summers ago as part of the complex Zlatan Ibrahimovic part-exchange deal. He has scored an impressive 53 goals in 101 games winning Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League along the way. Having spent 11 years in Spain and 2 in Italy, the 30-year old could be about to prove himself in the Premier League.
The Cameroon Captain’s statement will surely alert the likes of Manchester City to his potential availability. Eto’o was a target of the Eastlands club when he opted to move to Inter instead. With the club strengthening their squad for their first taste of Champions League football and the future of captain Carlos Tevez still to be decided, City manager Roberto Mancini would welcome his signature. Chelsea are also looking for an attacker and could be interested in Eto’o’s.
The four-time African Player of the Year started his career with Real Madrid before moving to Mallorca. Barcelona paid €24 million for the forward in 2004 where he remained for 5 seasons, scoring 130 goals on the way. He became the first player to win consecutive continental Trebles, first with Barcelona in 2009 and then with Inter the following season.
