The goalkeeping department has been a constant source of debate at Liverpool since Pepe Reina began to lose form. While Simon Mignolet has held down the No.1 jersey on the most-part since then, his Anfield stint has been riddled with costly errors, relentless criticism and even bouts out of the side.
Loris Karius was seemingly brought in to take the mantle from the 20-cap Belgium international, who started last time out in the Premier League, but he’s failed to conquer that challenge, making only 26 appearances across all competitions since arriving from Mainz two summers ago.
Then there’s promising 24-year-old Danny Ward; he impressed during loan spells with Aberdeen and Huddersfield but is yet to truly muscle his way into the mix at his parent club.
So with the third round of the FA Cup usually representing a chance for managers to rotate their squads – which more often than not includes a change in goalkeeping personnel to appease those lower down the pecking order – which goalkeeper would you start against Everton on Friday night, Reds supporters?
