Jackson was unsure how long he would be suspended after that dismissal in Chelsea's last match at the Club World Cup. However, he is set to miss their last group game against ES Tunis and the likely last-16 game after that.

Jackson's suspension opens the door to new Chelsea striker Liam Delap, who is aiming to establish himself as the Blues' number one striker at the tournament. Delap said recently he plans to "thrive" off the competition with Jackson and is set to start in the Senegalese international's absence.

Chelsea are said to be considering the sale of Jackson after another red card, following his dismissal against Newcastle in the Premier League in May. There is reported to be interest from several Italian clubs.
